This graphite sketch, titled "Jonge vrouw met lange haren in een landschap," was created by Matthijs Maris, a Dutch Symbolist painter, sometime between 1849 and 1917. It depicts the figure of a woman with long hair, obscured and rendered in a series of rapid, gestural strokes.
