Victor Vasarely made this artwork, Minho 2, with some kind of paint, maybe gouache or acrylic, in a flat, bold style. What grabs me here is the interplay between shapes and colors, like he's exploring how these elements talk to each other. Look at that big, black form at the top; it anchors the whole piece, while the reds and purples dance around it. There's a push and pull, a playful tension, created by the way the shapes and colors interact. The paint looks smooth, hiding the process, so you're left with just the shapes doing their thing. Vasarely's work is often linked to geometric abstraction and Op Art and has parallels with artists like Josef Albers in its use of colour theory. It's a conversation about how we see and experience the world, reminding us that art is never about one right answer, but about opening up new ways of looking.
