"Picture Book of Snow, Moon, and Flowers," created in 1768 by the renowned Japanese artist Nishikawa Sukenobu (1671-1750), is a beautiful example of *surimono* printmaking. This form of Japanese woodblock printing was popular among the Edo period elite and often featured images of nature and poetry. The detailed ink drawings depict a scenic landscape with figures enjoying the natural beauty of the cherry blossoms, a popular subject for *surimono* prints. Today, this artwork is part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
