Hiroyuki Tajima made this Yellow Print, we don't know when, but I like to imagine it emerged from a studio filled with the scent of ink and possibility. There's a definite layering of textures and shapes, a real material presence in this work, where the color is not just on the surface but feels embedded within it. I keep coming back to these little circles at the top, each a tiny universe of yellows and blues, like some weird fruit, or maybe even planets seen through a telescope. Below, there's this blocky, almost architectural shape, scratched with lines. There’s a tension here, like Tajima is pulling apart the layers of representation and abstraction, letting the process itself become the subject. It reminds me a little of some of the work of Robert Rauschenberg, that same interest in process, in collage, in the messiness of art making. Ultimately, it’s a reminder that art is not about answers, but about questions, about embracing the unknown and finding beauty in the unexpected.
