Editor: Here we have Richard Smith's "Triangular," currently residing at the Tate. It’s comprised of these large, connected red panels. I find the composition quite striking. What elements stand out to you? Curator: The work is intriguing in its use of form and colour. Note the modular construction; how discrete elements are unified by the chromatic consistency and the subtle diagonal scoring. Do you perceive any tension in the juxtaposition of the regular modules and the overall triangular form? Editor: I do see that now. Is it meant to evoke a sense of instability, perhaps? Curator: Perhaps. The artist masterfully employs colour and shape to challenge our perception of space and form, inviting a deeper contemplation on the inherent qualities of the work itself. Editor: That makes me consider how the formal aspects create a dialogue all their own. Curator: Precisely. A testament to the power of pure form and colour.
