This Chippendale sofa, dating from around 1770, is a fine example of the popular style of furniture design that emerged in England during the mid-18th century. The sofa's elegant, curved shape and intricate floral upholstery reflect the refined taste of the era. The Chippendale style is known for its combination of classicism and Rococo elements, and this sofa embodies those characteristics. It is currently on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
