Antonio Corpora made "Le forze segrete" with paint, and I'm betting he had a great time doing it. The push and pull of the blues and reds feel so instinctual, like he’s not overthinking it, just letting it flow. I love how the strokes of paint aren’t trying to hide themselves. You can almost feel the bristles of the brush dancing across the canvas. Look at the way those dark blues on the top bleed into the brighter blues below, and how the reds kind of vibrate against both. It's like the painting is breathing, you know? This one jagged red slash towards the bottom, cutting across the blue, it reminds me of a heartbeat. The texture isn’t super thick, but you can still see the layers, the history of the making. It’s this push-and-pull that makes it so alive. It reminds me a bit of Franz Kline’s work, that same energy and bold simplicity. All painting is a kind of conversation across time and space, and Corpora definitely had something to say!
