"Der Quarantt, Zohrn, ditto, Zohohrn und ditto, Ziohn; Riesen=Stärne" (1919) is a work by Swiss artist Adolf Wölfli (1864-1930). Wölfli, who spent much of his life in an asylum, created a vast and complex body of art characterized by intricate patterns, symbolic imagery, and fantastical narratives. This piece, typical of his style, features a central motif of a multi-pointed star and a complex arrangement of repeated patterns in bright, bold colors. The title, a combination of invented words and musical notation, reflects the artist's unique vision and fascination with symbolism and language. This artwork is considered a prime example of "Art Brut," a term coined by Jean Dubuffet to describe the raw, self-taught art created by individuals outside the mainstream art world.
