"Vrede van Dresden" is a silver medal created by Andreas Vestner in 1745. The medal commemorates the Peace of Dresden, which ended the War of the Austrian Succession. The obverse features three portraits: Augustus III, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony, Maria Theresa, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, and Frederick II, King of Prussia. The reverse shows a classical allegory with figures representing peace, concord, and justice, alluding to the end of the war. This medal is an excellent example of how artists used the medium of medallic art to commemorate important historical events.
