This is Färgkomposition med blommor by Lennart Rodhe, and it's made with flat planes of colour. You can really sense the artist building up the image step by step, one flower at a time, each one slightly different. Imagine Rodhe, brush in hand, deciding where to place the next bold stripe of lilac, or baby blue. It’s like each brushstroke is a little decision, a response to what’s already there, and a push towards what the painting might become. Is it a dance? I always wonder what artists are thinking at the time. That particular gesture of a looping baby blue line almost looks like it was done in one breath, you know? Painting’s a physical act, a back-and-forth between intention and accident. Rodhe's work reminds me that we’re all just having this big, ongoing conversation, bouncing ideas off each other across time. And that’s pretty cool.
