"Jupiter" is a woodcut print created in 1534 by the Italian artist Gabriele Giolito de' Ferrara. The print depicts Jupiter, the king of the gods in Roman mythology, enthroned with a crown and being presented with a chalice, a symbolic representation of divine power. The image includes numerous detailed elements including decorative borders, peacocks, and mythical creatures such as a griffin, which were typical artistic conventions of the time. The inscription at the bottom of the print, in Latin and Italian, reads: “Love is my warm blood and ardent passion, I am an enemy of all evil intentions,” and “I always keep my intention to be grateful and kind to those who are worthy." This wood-cut print embodies the artistic style and symbolism popular during the 16th century Renaissance in Italy.
