This is the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Crown of Romania, created by Joseph Resehl Fü. It’s like a tiny universe of craftsmanship, isn't it? The starburst shape, with its red enamel and intricate filigree, it reminds me of how we build up a painting, layer by layer, decision by decision. You can see the attention to detail in the way the light catches the edges of the cross, and in the velvety texture of the ribbon. I think about the process of its making; each element carefully considered and placed. Look at the inscription in the center. It feels both important and a little mysterious, like an inside joke. It feels almost totemic, in the same way that folk art is full of these kinds of arcane symbols. There's something almost naive about it, it reminds me of Henry Darger somehow. It's full of secrets and stories that we can only guess at. This piece isn’t just an object; it’s an invitation to dream.
