Editor: So, this is Ceri Richards' *Circular Bases*, from the Tate. It's quite a moody piece, all blues and these looming circular shapes. What do you make of it? Curator: It’s like peering into the cosmos, isn't it? I see worlds colliding, a sort of underwater ballet of planets, perhaps reflecting on the cyclical nature of life and art, and a bit of Richards’ Welsh poetic soul. Don't you feel a sense of longing here? Editor: I hadn't thought about it that way, but now I do see that sense of longing. Thanks! Curator: Absolutely! And it makes you wonder, doesn’t it, what other secrets these canvases hold?
