This untitled piece was created by Vasile Dobrian, who was born in Romania in 1912. Dobrian’s life spanned some of the most tumultuous events of the twentieth century, deeply impacting Eastern Europe. This abstract piece, with its brown and blue geometric forms, offers a lens through which we might consider the ways in which artists grapple with social upheaval.
