Wang Hui’s *Landscape in the Style of Zhao Boju* (1654) is a masterful example of the *shanshui* genre, which depicts the majestic beauty of mountains and rivers. The composition is characterized by a delicate balance of washes, delicate brushstrokes, and atmospheric perspective. The soft, mist-filled landscape evokes a sense of tranquility, while the towering peaks and winding river convey a sense of grandeur. This work is considered a fine example of Wang Hui’s artistic style, which was influenced by the great masters of the Song Dynasty. It is housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
