This page from *Schön newes Modelbuch* (1608) by Sigismundus Latomus (1599-1632) features two intricate patterns for needlepoint. The patterns are printed in black ink on a cream-colored page and are arranged in two bands, with the top band depicting a repeating geometric design of squares and triangles, while the lower band features a more stylized pattern of floral motifs. This pattern book, a popular genre in the early 17th century, offered needlework designs for domestic use, and is now part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
