Corita often pulled phrases from everyday life – song lyrics, advertising slogans, even scripture – and recontextualized them. It’s about seeing the world anew, isn't it? What feelings emerge? Editor: I guess I feel a sense of…optimism, mixed with a little bit of uncertainty? Curator: I agree, a beautiful tension. I think Corita's art invites us to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. It's all about how we choose to see. Editor: I never thought about it that way! It's like she's giving us a puzzle to solve, but the answer is a feeling.
