Editor: So, here we have Augustin de Saint-Aubin's "Don Quixote and Sancho mounted on Clavileño." It’s a black and white print, quite small, but packed with chaotic energy. What do you make of it? Curator: It's like catching a dream mid-flight, isn't it? Saint-Aubin has this incredible ability to suggest a whole story, a whole world, with just a few lines. Do you see how he uses the hatching to create a sense of depth, almost like a stage? Editor: I do! It feels like a theatrical performance frozen in time. The figures almost seem to be illuminated by the fire. Curator: Exactly! It’s as if Saint-Aubin is winking at us, reminding us that it's all a grand illusion. And perhaps the most beautiful illusions are those that make us question reality. What do you think? Editor: I think I'm starting to see Don Quixote in a whole new light. Thanks! Curator: And I'm reminded of the power of a single image to ignite the imagination!
