"Christus onderricht zijn leerlingen" is an engraving by Christoffel van (II) Sichem, created in 1629. The scene depicts Jesus Christ teaching his disciples in a room with an open window looking out onto a city street. The disciples are seated or standing around Jesus, listening intently to his words. Sichem’s engraving is a detailed and expressive depiction of a biblical scene, and his work is considered an example of the late Renaissance style. This small-scale artwork currently resides in the Rijksmuseum.
