Diane Arbus made this photograph, *Nudist Lady with Swan Sunglasses,* with a camera, of course, and film. I bet she and the sitter must have spent some time together. You know, it always takes a while to feel comfortable with another person, to learn their rhythms and begin to feel empathetic. I wonder what it was like to be a fly on the wall in Arbus's studio. Did she suggest the swan glasses? This woman really has an intriguing persona, doesn’t she? It takes guts to present yourself in a way that is so at odds with how you are expected to be. I love that. It is such a courageous act. I admire Diane Arbus, too.
