"Landskab fra Vejleegnen. Stille sommerdag" was created by Godfred Christensen, sometime in the late 19th or early 20th century, using oil paint on canvas. Christensen's choice of oil paint, a traditional medium associated with fine art, is itself significant. Unlike more 'humble' materials, oil paint has historically been linked to prestige and permanence.
