Eduardo Nery made this painting called "Solids in Space", it is a blast of color and shape. Looking at it makes me think about how he must have really enjoyed the physical process of building up his images. The way the paint sits on the surface, it's so smooth and considered. Take a close look at one of the orange blocks, how the top plane is a different tone to the side, a bold choice. I think it’s interesting how he balances that with the overall clarity of form. There's a sense of play, but also a real precision and thoughtfulness in how he applies each color. It reminds me a little bit of Josef Albers’ work on color relationships, but with a more spatial and almost architectural dimension. Ultimately, it is more about the question than the answer - it's that constant back and forth, that's where the magic happens.
