Victor Vasarely made this painting called Tau Ceti-MC using small, colorful squares that create the illusion of depth and movement. I imagine Vasarely meticulously arranging each square, shifting colors from cool blues and greens to warmer pinks and purples. It's like he’s building a world block by block, turning the flat surface into something that feels like it's breathing. I feel like he’s trying to find a visual language for a new kind of space, maybe even outer space. It reminds me a little of what Josef Albers was doing with color and shape, but Vasarely takes it to this almost psychedelic place. Each tiny gesture—each carefully placed square—speaks to a larger intention. It's as though he's saying, "Let's rethink what we see and how we see it." He invites us to play along and get lost in the optical dance.
