László Moholy-Nagy’s ‘Behind the Back of the Gods’ uses photography and collage to create something dreamlike. The texture is really something, isn't it? The way the stark black and white photos are cut out and combined makes for a surreal depth of field. Check out how the artist overlays different images, creating this floating, almost suspended world. It's like he's playing with gravity and perspective. The lines connecting the figures feel like strings, but they also give the piece a sense of dynamic movement, right? This collage is also a study of contrast – the crisp edges of the photos against the soft gradient of the background sky. Moholy-Nagy's playful approach reminds me a bit of Hannah Höch, another artist who embraced the freedom of collage. Both explore how fragments can come together to form new realities. With the figures here, is it like we are seeing something new and a little bit absurd?
