Carolina Onnen assembled this page from a photo album titled "Gezin Furnée bij Lyon." The pictures, arranged on a muted brown page, offer glimpses into family life near Lyon. I love how each image feels like a fragment of memory, a little portal into another time. Each photograph is printed in grayscale with white frilled edges. The image quality is poor. They feel very human. It's easy to imagine Onnen carefully choosing which moments to preserve, arranging them on the page almost like brushstrokes, composing a visual narrative. The page becomes a site of inquiry, a space where personal history is pieced together, prompting us to reflect on the nature of memory, and the way we construct our own stories through images. It's like she’s having a conversation with herself and with us, across time.
