Curator: Julian Trevelyan's "Hammersmith Bridge" feels like a memory distilled into simple shapes. Editor: Yes, it's quite striking how Trevelyan reduces the scene to its core elements, almost childlike in its perspective. Curator: Absolutely, I'm immediately drawn to the bold red of the bridge's tower. It's a potent symbol of industrial might softened by the whimsical rendering of buses and boats. Editor: That contrast is telling, isn't it? This work, although visually delightful, prompts questions about urban infrastructure and its impact on the everyday lives of Londoners. It makes me wonder who had the leisure to sail a boat while others commuted on those buses. Curator: It's a vibrant dance between the personal and the political, I suppose. I’m going to keep looking at this image and daydream about floating down the Thames. Editor: A good idea! It’s a reminder that the personal is always political, and that public infrastructure is not neutral.
