What do you make of that lone figure in the foreground? Editor: I hadn't considered it in relation to the fortress itself. It's just this tiny figure. Curator: Exactly! It gives scale, but also hints at the insignificance of any individual life against the backdrop of history. Or perhaps, the enduring human presence regardless of historical shifts.
