Editor: This photograph, "Ellora, The Renowned Fortress of Dowlutabad from the Northeast," by Colin Murray, presents a rather desolate scene. What stories do you think are hidden within this captured moment? Curator: Desolate, perhaps, but also enduring. Notice how Murray frames the fortress, almost like a natural formation rising from the earth. It speaks to me of time, of resilience against… well, everything. What do you make of that lone figure in the foreground? Editor: I hadn't considered it in relation to the fortress itself. It's just this tiny figure. Curator: Exactly! It gives scale, but also hints at the insignificance of any individual life against the backdrop of history. Or perhaps, the enduring human presence regardless of historical shifts. What do you think Murray intended to capture? Editor: That makes me think about the passage of time. Thank you. Curator: My pleasure. It’s all about seeing beyond the surface, isn’t it?
