Interpretation 1990

Karlo Zvirynsky created this symbolic painting with an array of shapes that seem to be reaching back through time. Dominating the lower left is a spiral. The spiral motif here echoes ancient symbols found in petroglyphs and labyrinths, representing growth, evolution, and the cyclical nature of life. This is a visual echo rippling through millennia, and also appears across cultures, from Celtic art to Minoan palaces, each time carrying layers of cultural memory. The way the spiral is set inside the frame suggests a portal, a gateway not only through space, but also time. These archetypal symbols are persistent, and resurface, evolving and taking on new meanings in each historical context. The symbols engage viewers on a deep, subconscious level.
