Antonio Asis made this, Vibration couleur, but I couldn’t tell you when or with what. From my perspective it looks like it's all about the little things, and I mean that literally. All those tiny dots. The texture feels almost… alive? There is definitely no thick gloopy brushstrokes here, it's so clean and methodical. You get the sense that Asis really enjoyed the repetition of the mark, the care of placing each individual dot. I want to run my hands over it even though I know that's strictly not allowed. I’m not sure about you, but it's a bit hypnotic for me. It's something akin to Bridget Riley's moiré patterns, they both use basic shapes in large numbers, creating movement, rhythm, and optical illusions. It reminds us that art is a conversation. We, as artists, are always speaking to each other.
