About this artwork

Editor: Here we have Charlotte Posenenske's "Relief (Series B)." It's striking how this object juts out from the wall. What do you make of its form and color? Curator: Observe the composition. Two identical planes, joined at a sharp angle, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The color, a vibrant, almost acidic green, disrupts the conventional expectations of sculpture. It challenges our notions of depth and surface. Editor: So it’s less about what it represents and more about how it presents itself as an object? Curator: Precisely. Posenenske is interested in the objecthood. Consider the relationship between the object and the gallery space. What does that relationship evoke for you? Editor: I guess, considering its scale, it becomes part of the architecture itself. I learned something new.
