Editor: This is Michael Moon’s "Drawing," from the Tate Collections. The surface looks distressed, kind of like repurposed panels, but the composition is quite formal. What’s your take? Curator: It reminds me of archaeological digs, unearthing layers of history. Each panel, with its unique texture and color, could represent different epochs or states of mind. Do you feel a sense of time passing when you look at it? Editor: Yes! Now that you mention it, I see it too, in the way the colors are layered. I was so focused on the grid. Thanks! Curator: Perhaps the grid provides the structure, a kind of scaffolding for the stories these panels tell. It's interesting how something so simple can be so evocative, don't you think? Editor: Absolutely. I’ll never look at a simple grid the same way again.
