Gebedenboek in handschrift en met ingeplakte handgekleurde prenten c. 1525 - 1800

This anonymous prayer book, dating from the 16th to 18th centuries, is a fine example of a bound manuscript. Its cover is dark brown leather with a decorative gilt border of stylized floral motifs. The small, portable size of this prayer book suggests it was intended for personal use, possibly as a devotional aid for a devout individual. The prayer book is now part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
