Inigo Manglano-Ovalle made Glenn, Dario, and Tyrone, part of the Garden of Delights series, using DNA autoradiographs. Isn't it wild how science and art can crash into each other? I find the ghostly blues against that stark white so evocative. Each splotch and line feels like a secret language, a code embedded in our very being. I get lost in the textures, the way the light seems to catch and glow from within. It's like looking at a celestial map, or maybe even a distorted cityscape. And then you realize, this isn't stars or buildings, it's us! It's Glenn, Dario, and Tyrone, translated into abstract patterns. What does it mean? I don't know, but I'm hooked. It reminds me of the way Agnes Martin used grids, not to contain, but to open up space for contemplation. Manglano-Ovalle gives us a new perspective on who we are, blurring the lines between science, identity, and art.
