Friedensreich Hundertwasser made this print, Exodus Into Space, with all these bright colors and wiggly lines. It feels like he didn't want a single straight line on the page, a really fun process of resisting regularity. There's so much to look at! The surface feels alive with different textures and patterns. Notice how the blue spirals of the building contrast with the green, globular foliage. And those eyes peeking out everywhere – are they watching us, or are we watching them? I love how the colors pop, especially the reds against the blues and greens. It's almost psychedelic, like a dream of a city floating in space. Then there's the face, so cartoonish, but also serious in its own way. All these different gestures create a sense of organized chaos. Hundertwasser always had a thing for architecture and nature, and you see that here. It reminds me a bit of Gaudi, but with even more color and whimsy. It really speaks to the idea that art is a conversation, a constant exchange of ideas and influences, and, mostly, that there is space for everyone.
