Friedensreich Hundertwasser made this print, with its bands of color swirling into something that kind of looks like an eye… I can imagine him bending over a table, carefully laying down each line, building up the concentric circles. There’s a real sense of play and a touch of the surreal, right? Like he’s creating his own little world, one layer at a time. The palette is a mix of earthy tones and these vibrant pops of red, yellow, and blue. It's like looking into a kaleidoscope. And that bold red line slicing across the image? It’s so direct, so decisive. I wonder if he labored over that, or if it just came to him in a flash. This piece, with its focus on color and form, reminds me a bit of Kandinsky’s abstract compositions. It feels like Hundertwasser is exploring the inner workings of his mind, mapping out his own unique visual language. Painters are always in conversation with each other, you know, riffing on ideas, pushing boundaries, creating something new.
