Andre-Pierre Arnal created this stage curtain for the Théâtre d'O in Montpellier using a mosaic-like composition, that invites us to consider the performance space as a site of cultural and social encounter. The grid structure, reminiscent of a fragmented mirror, reflects the diverse narratives and identities that intersect within the theater. Each square is a unique world of color and texture, symbolizing individual stories within a larger, collective experience. Arnal, deeply influenced by the socio-political upheavals of the 20th century, often explores themes of fragmentation and reconstruction in his work.
