This lithograph titled ‘The Two Disobedient Children’ was created by Gordinne. It’s a sweet visual narrative, kinda like a comic strip before comics really took off. The palette is muted, almost like it’s been faded by the sun, all gentle blues, reds, and yellows, creating a nostalgic feel. The way the scenes are arranged feels intentional. Gordinne isn’t trying to trick us with perspective. Instead, each mini-scene feels like a stage, where the kids and animals act out their little dramas. Look at the texture – it's subtle, but you can almost feel the paper grain beneath the ink. The lines are crisp, giving the whole thing a charming, old-fashioned vibe. It reminds me a little of early picture book illustration. There’s a directness, a lack of pretension, that feels refreshing. The piece isn't trying to be profound, it's simply trying to tell a story. Which leaves us to bring our own feelings to the table.
