Kitchen Interior 

Johann Gerlach Lambert’s "Kitchen Interior" depicts a scene of everyday life in a humble kitchen. The painting shows three figures: a woman seated with a knife in hand, a man seated behind her with a pipe, and a third figure standing to the left holding vegetables. The figures appear to be preparing food, creating a sense of realism and intimacy. The artwork is a fine example of genre painting, a popular style in the 18th century that focused on everyday life and ordinary people. The painting is currently on display at the Städel Museum.
