Alexander Calder, bless his soul, put together this ‘Snow Flurry I’ with wire and aluminum, and it lives at MoMA. It's like Calder was trying to catch a blizzard in mid-air. Just imagine him in his studio, bending and twisting wire, figuring out how to suspend these delicate shapes so they float and dance. You can almost feel the chill of winter and see the snowflakes twirling. The white discs catch the light, like a flurry, and the wire disappears into the background. I wonder if Calder was thinking about how to make something solid feel weightless? The art of Calder, Picasso, Miro, and others is that they speak across time, and they set the table for us. It's not about answers but about keeping the conversation going, right? Each artist adds their voice, and we're all just trying to figure out what it means to be human, one gesture at a time.
