Editor: Ivor Abrahams' "Works Past II" shows what looks like figures on a crumbling staircase. The etching feels both ancient and dreamlike. What symbols or echoes of the past do you find resonate most strongly here? Curator: The figures, almost ghosts, suggest cultural memory. The crumbling architecture, a classical motif, hints at lost empires and the ephemeral nature of power. Does the staircase itself evoke a sense of ascent or decline for you? Editor: That's a beautiful way to put it. I hadn't thought about the figures that way. I was struck by how the light plays on the worn stone. I'll think about cultural memory differently now. Curator: Indeed. Art often serves as a mirror, reflecting our shared history and personal experiences.
