Gerardo Dottori made this painting, Ritmi astrali, with oil on canvas, and it’s a trip! The colors are earthy, mostly browns and reds with a bit of blue peeking through, and the whole thing is built up from these tiny little strokes of paint, like he’s knitting the universe together one stitch at a time. I love how the paint has this granular texture, as if he’s trying to capture the feeling of cosmic dust swirling around. Look at the way the light seems to pulse from the center of each circle. It’s like Dottori is showing us how everything is connected, these little points of light rippling outwards, creating this wild, energetic rhythm. It reminds me a bit of Hilma af Klint, another artist who was trying to map out unseen worlds. Ultimately, with painting, it's more about embracing the questions than finding all the answers.
