"Women’s Hair String" is a painting by Makinti Napanangka, an Aboriginal artist from Australia. The artwork was created in 2008, two years before Napanangka’s death. It is a simple yet striking abstract work with a black background and a pattern of thick, pink and white horizontal lines. The lines are reminiscent of the woven hair strings commonly worn by women in the artist’s community, and the work reflects the cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the Pintupi people. This style of abstract art is widely associated with Aboriginal culture and traditions, and has earned international recognition.
