This “Tumbler” is a piece of American glass art from the late 19th century. Made by the Challinor, Taylor & Company, it is a perfect example of the swirled "marble" glass that was popular during that era. This type of glass was achieved by mixing different colored glass together while molten and then manipulating it to create unique patterns, much like marbling paper. The tumbler has a deep purple base with swirled patterns of white, blue, and pink. It was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it's a prime example of the craftsmanship and artistry in American glassblowing.
