Jurgen Partenheimer made this KIWA sculpture with wood and black rods. It's all about the process, isn't it? The careful placing of each rod, the way they converge to form this sort of teepee. Up close, you notice the shadows cast by each rod, duplicating and elongating the form. The wood base has a certain weight to it, providing a grounded foundation for the airy structure above. I’m drawn to the negative spaces between the rods, how they create their own rhythm and pattern. It’s like looking at a musical score, each line a note waiting to be played. This work reminds me a little of Sol LeWitt's structures, in its mathematical simplicity and elegance. But unlike LeWitt, there's a warmth here, a handmade quality that softens the geometric precision. It leaves space for interpretation, for a conversation that’s always evolving.
