This cast iron "Rhinoceros" still bank was created by the Arcade Manufacturing Company around 1910-1925. It is a realistic representation of the animal and is painted in a dark, almost black, shade, with a touch of red for the mouth and white for the horn. The bank has a slot on the back for depositing coins, a common feature of cast iron animal banks produced in the early 20th century. This playful and charming piece is an example of early American folk art.
