This 18th-century Dutch print, *Wensbrief met voorstellingen uit het Nieuwe Testament* (Wish letter with representations from the New Testament) by Hendrik Moolenyzer, features three scenes from the New Testament. The top scene shows the miracle of the loaves and fishes, the left scene shows the angel appearing to Mary Magdalene after Christ's resurrection, and the right scene depicts the meeting of Jesus with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. These scenes are framed by elaborate rococo-style ornamentation, which reflects the popularity of this style in the Netherlands at the time. The text in the center of the print is a handwritten wish letter, likely intended for a special occasion such as a wedding or birthday. This artwork, currently in the Rijksmuseum, provides insight into Dutch devotional art of the 18th century.
