This small, shallow bowl is an example of Jun ware, a type of Chinese pottery known for its distinctive iridescent glaze. Produced during the Song dynasty (960-1279) and Yuan dynasty (1271-1368), Jun ware was often used for tea ceremonies. The glaze on this bowl exhibits a beautiful spectrum of colors, with shades of blue, purple, and white flowing across the surface. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY houses this exquisite piece of Chinese ceramics.
