Alfio Giuffrida made this sculpture, 'Element XXIII Installation 11', from iron, and it’s got this austere, almost architectural presence. I’m immediately drawn to the structure. It's like these interlocking triangles are trying to hold up a secret language. I’m thinking about the artist playing with industrial materials, bending them to his will. What was it like to weld these forms together, to find the balance between weight and space? The repeating geometric forms, the modular way they fit together makes me think about the artist's wider exploration of structure and form. You sense a kinship with Constructivist artists—folks like Tatlin—who were all about using industrial materials to build new visions. Artists are always in conversation with each other, even across generations, building on each other's ideas, riffing on the same themes. Ultimately, painting, like sculpture, is about embracing that uncertainty. It's about opening up a space for the unexpected, letting the work reveal itself in ways you couldn't have predicted.
