"Opdracht van de heilige Maagd Maria" (1620-1666) by Philip Fruytiers (1610-1666) is an etching that depicts a scene from the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel appears to Mary to announce that she will give birth to Jesus. The artwork is currently on display at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and is a fine example of 17th century Dutch religious artwork. It is noted for its detailed and realistic depiction of the figures, as well as its use of light and shadow. The etching is a fine example of Baroque art and the detail of the etching shows the careful hand of the artist.
