Dinner plate c. 1865

This set of dinnerware, made by Minton's Pottery and Porcelain Factory in England, dates to the 1860s. Featuring an intricate decorative pattern in red, gold, and black, the set is a classic example of Victorian-era porcelain. The design, with its floral elements and stylized animals, is inspired by the Rococo style. The set’s gilded accents and delicate details highlight the high quality of the craftsmanship and would have been considered a luxury item in the Victorian era. The set is currently housed at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
